Happy Birthday Steve!

A great big Happy 28th birthday to Steve today! Seems like just yesterday we were holding our 8 pound 2 ounce 20 inch baby boy! We are now just 16 days away from his wedding to Noelle - what a great day that will be! We are so proud of Steve and all his accomplishments - he is a great guy and we love him so much! I remember him enjoying playing football with his dad - one day I went outside to join in the fun and was told to go back inside, football is just for boys. He would hunker down for the huddle and Russ would ask him what he wanted to do and Steve would reply - Play Football! He always said he wanted to be a "ment truck driver" too - and I don't think he has ever been in a cement truck yet - although he can drive the cement buggies pretty good! Steve gave us a scare when he put his arm through a storm door once - his good buddy, Jimmy Cole, yelled out as we left for the hospital - I hope they don't have to cut your arm off Buddy! This picture is part of Steve and Noelle's engagement photos - it was a chilly fall day and Steve actually stood in cold water in a park in Rochester so that Noelle could have the photos she wanted. Must be true love! ;-)

A Beautiful Day in Michigan!

Spring has hit Michigan - the sun is shining, the temps are rising, the trees and plants are budding - great for everyone unless they are bothered by allergies and sinus problems! Uggg!

Thought you would like to see a few pictures taken recently - unfortunately I cannot seem to get the captions with the pictures! So you are seeing Sydney posing in her first bathing suit. She is all ready for a trip to Florida now! Karsten is taking a nap at Grandma & Grandpa's house while his mommy and daddy went bowling. Megan is enjoying showing off the dress that Grandma Shirley bought for her. She wore this to a bridal shower for Rich's cousin Gena. Sydney is all dressed up to go to church on Good Friday - and then it got warmer and we changed her to a light weight pants outfit instead - but she looked so cute in her little dress! Kari and Megan looked so happy after that bridal shower. And lastly a picture from Easter - Rich with Megan, Kari with Sydney and Michelle with Karsten - all those bunny ears!

And then my camera batteries went dead!!

Happy Birthday Kim!

Where does the time go??? Kim is 33 today! I remember so well the day I came home from the doctor to tell Russ for sure that we were going to have our first baby. I had stopped at Penney's at Northwood and bought both blue and pink booties. He was working in the garage with a friend and I just held up the 2 sets of booties and he beamed! I remember also the day she was born, the day she was baptized, giving driving lessons, her high school prom, good times and bad times, and one sad birthday - and the day of this picture. It was July 9, 2004 when she married Dave - she and Polo were both happy in this picture! And now she is a mom! Anyway - we love you Kim, hope your birthday is great!

A Day at Somerset

Yesterday - a day of sunshine and good food and great company! Kari, Megan, Sydney and I met Michelle, Kim and Karsten at Somerset Mall. We had lunch at PF Chang's - the girls always talk about lettuce wraps so I got to have some finally. Yum! We also had steamed vegetable dumplings and spare ribs for an appetizer and one single piece of chocolate 6 layer cake for dessert to share. Michelle had alreay gone back to work - Kim, Kari and I could not finish this piece of cake. It was a full 6 layers!! Wow! Then we did some shopping. Always a conversation starter when you go through the mall with 3 identical strollers/carseats. Met many other grandma's with their daughters and babies. As we drove home we actually had the air conditioning on (too loud with the window open). Absolutely beautiful outside. We had the camera - but never got any pictures! Maybe next time!
